Akima was performing on a Field Manual (FM) conversion project for the U.S. Army, and required assistance in completing the tasks within the given timeframe. The task involved converting scanned FMs from Adobe PDF format to Microsoft Word, while maintaining the original formatting. FMs are used by soldiers to perform a variety of tasks, from configuring drop and landing zones to setting up military hospitals to packaging equipment to be parachuted to soldiers on the ground.


The U.S. Army Joint Training Counter IED Operations Integration Center (JTCOIC) is a jointly operated organization of the U.S. Department of Defense established to reduce or eliminate the effects of all forms of improvised explosive devices used against U.S. and coalition forces. JTCOIC replicates real-world resources and capabilities provide to forces deployed to (OIF) in Iraq and (OEF) in Afghanistan.


The U.S. Army Military Health System (MHS) performance planning effort is headed by the U.S. Army Plans, Analysis & Evaluation Directorate (PA&ED) with a goal to procure ITsupport services to improve and maintain the MHS Performance Planning Tool (MHSPPT). DMG upgraded the legacy system software and reports to maintain compatibility with the Army’s hardware and software. We currently maintain the existing system, develop and test enhancements, and operate a 24/7/365 help desk.


The United States Army’s Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) is part of the United States Army Materiel Command (AMC). It generates, provides, and sustains mobility, lethality, and survivability for soldiers, other branches of the U.S. armed forces, and allies, to ensure Army readiness. At TACOM, DMG is responsible for maintaining an equipment readiness web page with data from multiple sources.

U.S. Army Office of the Surgeon General

The Military Health System Performance Planning Tool (MHSPPT),provides a platform for the Army to supply healthcare delivery plans. DMG upgraded the legacy system software and reports to maintain compatibility with the Army’s upgraded hardware and software. We are currently maintaining the existing system, developing and testing enhancements, and operating a 24/7/365 help desk.

U.S. Coast Guard

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and one of the country's seven uniformed services. The USCG is a maritime, military, multi-mission service unique among the U.S. military branches for having a maritime law enforcement and a federal regulatory agency mission as part of its mission set. The Configuration and Technical Data Management Office (CG-444) is responsible for Configuration and Technical Data Management policy throughout the USCG.

U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center (ALC)

The U.S. Coast Guard ALC Information Systems Division required Account Management and Help Desk services for the Asset Logistics Management Information System (ALMIS), ALC Sensitive but Unclassified Local Area Network (ALC SBULAN), and the Coast Guard Logistics Information Management System (CG-LIMS). This support includes Total Account Management, Tier 1 and 2 Help Desk support, Datacenter Monitoring, Video Security Monitoring, and Visitor Badge distribution.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is an independent agency of the United States government. The CPSC is an agency that reports to Congress and the President and is not part of any other department or agency in the federal government. To advise consumers of recalls, safety features, and other relevant information quickly, CPSC realized the need to update its IT infrastructure.

U.S. Defense Logistics Agency

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) required task order Project Management Support under the Energy Convergence Engineering and Configuration Office Support Services contract. DMG provided the technical and functional activities, including productivity and management methods such as Quality Assurance, progress/status reporting, and program reviews at the Task Order level as a subcontractor to Spectrum.

U.S. Department of Agriculture

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), also known as the Agriculture Department, is the U.S. federal executive department responsible for developing and executing federal government policy on farming, agriculture, forestry, and food. USDA Food Safety Inspection Services (FSIS) required a Enterprise Reporting Solution to replace their inadequate reporting system and data warehouse.

U.S. Department of Defense Agency

The Department of Defense (DoD or the Pentagon) is the executive department of the government of the United States charged with coordinating and supervising all agencies and functions of the government concerned directly with national security and the U.S. Armed Forces. A U.S. DoD agency required a replacement for its end-of-life Travel Order software system.

U.S. Department of State

The United States Department of State (DoS), often referred to as the State Department, is the United States federal executive department responsible for international relations of the United States, equivalent to the foreign ministry of other countries. The Department of State Bureau of Public Diplomacy updated the processes/technologies used within program planning, budgeting, and management system.

IRS Business Intelligence Core Competency Center

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the revenue service of the U.S. federal government. The IRS is responsible for collecting taxes and the interpretation and enforcement of the Internal Revenue Code. A Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC) was created to provide a consolidated enterprise-wide business intelligence platform to serve the reporting requirements for all projects within the IRS.

U.S. Marshals Service

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is a U.S. federal law enforcement agency within the U.S. Department of Justice and is the enforcement arm of the U.S. federal courts. USMS required development of a strategic Business Intelligence (BI) plan and implementation, including systems integration assessment, report development methodology, data warehouse design, multi-layered system security, and universe and dashboard development.

U.S. Naval Academy

The United States Naval Academy (also known as USNA, Annapolis, or Navy) is a four-year coeducational federal service academy, educating officers for commissioning primarily into the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. USNA (ITSD) required support services for the Naval Academy Data Network (NADN) to ensure the network was operational and available (24/7/365).

U.S. Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command

The Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC) is one of several military cyber defense teams in the Department of Defense (DOD) which maintains the largest computer network in the world. NCDOC required technical and subject matter expert support for the development and implementation of their “Core” Solution.

U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command (MSC)

The Military Sealift Command (MSC) is a United States Navy organization that controls most of the replenishment and military transport ships of the Navy. The MSC's Hospital Ships Program needed to pinpoint and correct deficiencies in their existing disjointed system for supply chain tracking.

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is the largest of the United States Navy's five "systems commands," or materiel organizations. NAVSEA required operation of their Automated Data Processing (ADP) computer center to ensure they were mission-critical operational (24/7/365).

National Institute of Standards and Technology

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is a measurement standards laboratory, also known as a National Metrological Institute, and a non-regulatory agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST, having recently invested in Business Intelligence (BI) software, required instructor-led and e-learning BI software training for varying skill levels.

Washington Headquarter Services (WHS)

WHS is a Department of Defense (DoD) Field Activity, created to provide administrative and management support to multiple DoD components and military departments in the National Capital Region and beyond. WHS required a contractor to provide IV&V services for the Financial Management Directorate’s (FMD) Performance Management Program.

Department of Justice / U.S. Trustees Program – Office of Information Technology (OIT)

DMG delivers IT Program Management Support services to The Department of Justice U.S. Trustees Program (USTP) Office of Information Technology (OIT) division to ensure strategic alignment of all projects and major tasks to their mission. With DMG, USPT realizes improved efficiencies through process development and documentation using both Agile and Waterfall principles; improved financial project management planning through the creation of baseline documentation; and improved project completion within time constraints.

Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Acquisition and Project Management (OAPM)

The DOE OAPM was looking for a Business Intelligence solution and services to support implementing Microsoft® SharePoint® 2013 as a Document Management solution within enhanced Project Assessment and Reporting System (PARS-IIe) so that they could have visibility across all ongoing construction projects. DOE benefitted from DMG’s work through a more user-driven, agile production of visual, interactive dashboards with information from a wide range of sources. The customer realized reduced time spent on BI administrative tasks; increased employee productivity; and a shortened time to analytic insight for costs and asset use.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM)

The NMHM is the permanent steward of the nation’s National Historic Landmark medical collection that consists of collections of unique clinical, scientific, cultural, historic, and economic value. Information about its many collections are catalogued and managed through databases, which must be accurate and complete, and must be available for timely reporting for the development, planning, management, and implementation of NMHM holdings. DMG delivers Database Management support, seamlessly integrating current operations and future operations. We manage NMHM’s technical database performance requirements, and act as a Quality Control point for performance and deliverables in support of their mission.

MediCorp Health System

MediCorp Health System is a not-for-profit regional system of 28 health care facilities and wellness services. MediCorp Health System exists to improve the health status of all people within the community. The Finance, Budgeting, and IT departments at MediCorp were tasked with "fixing financial reporting." In order to fix their disjointed existing systems, they knew that they would have to work in a collaborative group environment to produce a singe unified, centralized business information center. MediCorp partnered with DMG to assist them in the design and creation of centralized Business Intelligence Competency Center.

Sentara Healthcare

Sentara Healthcare celebrates a 125-year history of innovation, compassion and community benefit. Based in Norfolk, VA, Sentara is a diverse not-for-profit family of 12 hospitals, an award winning health plan (Sentara Health Plans doing business as Optima Health), an array of integrated services, and a team 27,000 strong on a mission to improve health every day. DMG supported Sentara with improved BI capabilities to streamline and automate a significant number of manual processes to ensure timely dissemination of data and to improve the quality of their health systems.

Specialty Foods Group

Specialty Foods Group (SFG) is a leading producer of premium meat products. Thier popular brands are household names for millions of families across the country. SFG was in need of an updated ERP system with added reporting functionality to support operations. DMG designed new and improved existing universes and reports and designed the system metadata/meta layer. DMG also set up SFG system users, provided testing and validation, deployed the system into production and provided production support and training.

Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative

Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) is a customer-owned electric cooperative in Maryland. In an effort to meet aggressive financial and organizational performance goals within a limited budget and timeframe, SMECO embarked on an effort to integrate disparate internal and external data sources to provide an integrated view on key business performance indicators. SMECO engaged DMG to assess and design a data warehouse strategy extensible to meet future business requirements.

United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS)

UNOS manages information from data organ transplant centers, organ procurement organizations, and various medical laboratories across the United States, supporting more than 7,000 users at 405 different organizations. UNOS required improved BI capabilities to streamline and automate a significant number of manual processes to ensure timely dissemination of data and to improve the quality of the organ procurement system.

Virginia International Terminals, Inc. (VIT)

VIT operates three marine terminals and an inland port on behalf of the Virginia Port Authority, a state agency. VIT’s business is process-intensive, involving the coordination of their personnel, equipment, and external customers. DMG upgraded their reporting platform to an enhanced business intelligence and reporting architecture to more efficiently access and collaborate on reports, track usage of their reports to retire those that are no longer used, and extend the reporting to their leadership via a simple portal dashboard interface.
